The Food Allergy Project, Inc. has created this Privacy Policy to inform you about our policy for collection and use of personally identifiable information on the foodallergyproject.org website. This notice describes only our online information collection and use practices at this Site, it does not apply to information we collect about you elsewhere, including at other Food Allergy Project web sites, in email correspondences, or over the phone. Sites that are linked to our site may have different policies so please review the Privacy Policy notices on those sites for details.

This privacy policy is effective as of June 1, 2006. In the future, our Site may change, and if appropriate, we will revise this Privacy Policy and post the update version here. If we alter our practices in a manner that will impact the treatment of information you have already provided, we will send you a notice of our new practices. If you do not agree with the privacy practices described in this Privacy Policy, you should not provide us with information.

Information Collection and Use
Currently, we do not collect information at the Food Allergy Project Site. We do, however, provide you with the ability to submit email messages. Namely, if you are at a computer with access to an email program that is registered to your email account, when you select our mailing list link, a pre-addressed email message will come up in your email program, directed to FoodAllergyInfo@FoodAllergyProject.org. In that message, we ask that you provide us with your name, email address, and where you live (city, state and zip code).

We use the information you submit to add you to our public list of supporters, to send you emails about food allergy updates, to keep you informed of any activities happening in your area, and for other business purposes, including sending you notices about Food Allergy Project, its products or services, or other products, services or information in which we believe you may be interested. As a supporter, your name and city may be included in the list of supporters that we publicly distribute, for example to members of Congress from whom we are attempting to garner support. We may also share your information with trusted third parties in whose products or services we believe you may be interested. We also may ask that you allow us to list you publicly as a supporter in our press materials, on our web site, or in other forums we deem appropriate. As part of our regular business conduct, we also share information with our agents, as well as, where applicable any subsidiaries, or affiliates. In the unlikely event that there is a change of corporate ownership, the new owners will of course be provided with Food Allergy Project files, including information you have submitted. We will also share information with government officials in order to cooperate with a legitimate investigation. We use cookies at our site to improve our site, and our services, including to determine what web pages on our site were visited, the order in which they were visited and which hyperlinks, if any, were "clicked" by you. Collecting this information involves the logging of IP addresses, operating system (e.g., Windows or Macintosh), type of browser software (e.g., Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer) and Internet service providers (e.g., AOL or Earthlink.net) used by you at our site. Although such information is not personally identifiable, it can be used to determine the IP address of your Internet service provider and the geographic location of your connection to the Internet. The cookie itself does not contain any personally identifiable information about you and we do not use cookies in order to obtain such information.
